Time to Get in Gear

Short post tonight to breathe some life back into this blog.

It is time to get back in gear. No more wasting the greatest opportunity of my life so far.

It's time to get back on that path to excellence.

This is a start.

It's Been Far Too Long

I haven't posted here in a while due to a combination of internet problems and Thanksgiving holiday stuff. I just want to stay that I am still on track and have not gone anywhere. My book is almost ready to go. Everyone will here more from me in a bit.

Quick Update

Spent most of today working on editing my book. Making some good progress and am still really excited about the prospects for this book. I hope to use what Dax taught us on the call yesterday to take my personal marketing to the next level.

Tomorrow, I will work on creating my UMI before the Q&A call. Afterwords, I will do some more editing and get my articles out there more. I also will create a couple of follow-up messages for my newsletter autoresponder. If all goes well, I will finish up by doing some writing for my e-book for the 12 days. Maybe I'll even get a little ambitious and work on an audio project. Tomorrow should be a great day and another step towards excellence for Matt Maresca!

My Book Has Been Written!

After months and months of hard work and stops and starts and new ideas and...you get the picture, I have finally finished the writing of my book! I honestly have not been this exciting in a long time. I think it is a great book and will help many many people. The sense of accomplishment is terrific.

To be fair, I am not completely done. I still have to read the whole thing and edit it and then write an introduction, but the actual writing is done. Honestly, I never read the things I write. In college, I literally read only one or two papers after I was finished writing them. I just hit the print button and turned them in. I just wanted it all to be done (and, yes, I usually did fine on them with A's or B's).

But this is different. I am actually looking forward to reading this book. I can't wait to see if it all came together as nicely as I think it did. By the way, I keep saying book but I do intend to initially release it as an e-book. Depending on how things go I may turn to print copies as well. Guys, I'm telling you, this book is my best work to date and I want a lot of people to benefit from it. Can't wait to get this out on the market, hopefully in a couple weeks!

Other than that, in the past two days I set up another blog and posted an article of mine on it. I set up my opt-in page for my new newsletter. I sent out my article through an article submission service. I started making a list of potential dream affiliates for my e-book. I found a bunch of other sites to submit my article to that may actually get some traffic and help me in the search engines. I came up with a list of 10 new article ideas. I got myself a headset for Skype calls. I might have done something else and forgot it but those are the big things. It has been a very productive two days, but now the fun really begins.

Tomorrow's To-Do List

1) Finish my first info product (e-book, 3 -4 short sections remain, approx. 10-15pgs.)
2) Get a headset for Skype.
3) Create a page for my newsletter opt-ins
4) Submit my article all over
5) Do some work on my e-book for 12 Days of Fitness
6) Finish all of my scripts required to date
7) Create my gatekeeper strategy

Yes, that is quite a list. When I wake up, I will force myself to get started right away. I want tomorrow to be my most productive day of all time! Oh, and here's one more that I forget too often...

8) Have some freakin' fun!

Today's Progress

Today's progress was actually pretty good. While I did quite accomplish everything I set out to achieve, I realize that I did get a lot done. I wrote 6 more pages of my book, finished my phone inquiry script, put the finishing touches on an article, set up a webpage for an opt-in form for my newsletter, outlined my e-course, and outlined my e-book for the 12 days of fitness. The only things I did not complete were the remainder of the e-course and actually sending out my article. The article will be submitted to several places once I get my opt-in page completely up and running. This will be done tomorrow. For today, I give myself a B. It was a good day's work and I got a lot done. I am starting to see a light that could mean huge things for me in the very near future. Getting this book done in the next week is going to be criticle. I have so many things ready to put in place to get my name out there and start being recognized as an expert. This next week could change my life forever!

As for tomorrow, I hope to get another 6 pages done for my book. I have to finish that e-course no matter what. I have to get my newsletter opt-in up and running and get the newsletter ready to go. I then have to submit my article all over the place. Finally, but not least, I have to write my follow-up script as Dax instructed. I also want to take some time to further go over the excellence program. I won't have as much time tomorrow as the last couple days as I have to go to the gym for clients and I will workout myself now that my wrist is a little better, but I still should get quite a bit more done. Here's to another step towards excellence!

Back on Track

While I did not complete everything that I had set as tasks for the day, I would say that I got back on track today. I did write 6 pages for my book. I did write an article that just needs a little touch-up before it is ready to be sent out. I did come up with an idea for an e-book for the 12 Days of Fitness promo. I got somewhat caught up on the assignments for the mentoring program. I made a post of the Nightingale formula. I worked a bit on my script for answering calls but did not complete this. I did not work at all on my autoresponder series, though I do have some ideas of what I am going to do.

Overall, I would rate my day a C+. I did get a lot accomplished, and a couple of weeks ago I probably would have graded it an A, but I did not complete all the tasks I set for myself. I had time to do them and did not. This is not being excellent. I need to make progress on this tomorrow.

I'm going to set the bar high again for tomorrow. I want to write another 6-10 pages of my book. I want to finish my article and submit it to a few places. I want to set up an opt-in form for a newsletter in conjunction with this article. I want to complete my e-course for the autoresponder series. I want to finish my script for phone inquiries. I want to fully outline my idea for the e-book for the 12 days promo. It sounds like a lot, but I will have the time to do it so no excuses. If I want to be excellent, I will have to start coming through big on days when I set the bar high.

Nightingale Formula

DEMAND - There is an incredibly high demand for what I have to offer. As a fitness professional, specializing in fat loss, it is clear that there will not be a shortage of demand for my services anytime soon. In fact, the demand is so high that there is little need to worry about competition. There are too many people in need of fat loss and too many people who want to lose bodyfat.

ABILITY - I can just about guarantee that if someone comes to me looking to lose bodyfat and they follow my plans exactly as I make them, then that person will lose bodyfat. I have spent a great deal of my time coming up with the knowledge of how to make a fat loss program work. I have the scientific evidence on my side that what I do will work. If someone comes to me for help, they will get it without a doubt.

DIFFICULTY TO REPLACE - This is a bit of a tricky one. There are a lot of personal trainers out there, some of which know what they are doing. There are even some with just as much or even more knowledge than me. But I believe that there are few out there who can deliver as much as I do. This is because my demand for results is high. I demand that my clients do there part and I also demand that I do mine. It's about going above and beyond all basic expectations.

OUTCOME - It is clear now to me that I am worth much more than I am currently getting. This is something that I will have to make change.

Back in Business

OK, I haven't posted in a couple days due primarily to a wrist injury that prevented me from typing. It cost me a couple days of work on my book and some of Dax's assignments but I will catch up quickly. The injury wasn't much to write home about. I strained my wrist several months ago and never took care of it. I aggravated it a week ago and it eventually got to the point where I couldn't rotate my hand (supinate) even a little bit without pain. Therefore, I decided it was time to take care of it. My self-therapy program has been working and while it is not 100% yet, I have allowed myself to resume typing as there is no longer any pain whatsoever when I type.

So, I have a lot in store for myself tomorrow. I am setting a goal to finish the writing of my book by Sunday November 11. I must write 6-10 pages in Word tomorrow. I also have to catch up on all of Dax's assignments. I would like to write an article as well tomorrow. And I would like to completely set up my autoresponder series for my mini e-course. Finally, I'd like to come up with an idea and rough outline for a contribution to the 12 Days of Fitness promotion. There's my top 5 things to do for Saturday November 2nd, which I guess is now today. Should be a great day as I have a chance to accomplish a lot!

What I want?

What do I want? Well, I want a lot of things. Ultimately, I want to be happy and comfortable. I want to be able to never have to worry about money. I never want to have to worry about being able to afford a great program like this mentorship with Dax. I want to be able to live my life the way I want to live my life. I want to work whenever I feel like working and vacation whenever and wherever I feel like vacationing.

I want my business to get up and start running smoothly. I want to go forward by creating great products and then just going through a simple process to get them in front of tens or hundreds of thousands of thirsty people. I want to become recognized as a leading expert in the field of fat loss. I want to be seen in newspapers, magazines, on TV, and all over the internet. I want people to do a Google search for Matt Maresca in order to find out what I have to offer.

I want to gain confidence in myself. I know it may seem from some of my posts that I am a very confident person, but I still can't seem to shake a few doubts in my head from time to time. I always do my best to tune them out, but I want to put an end to them altogether. This goes for all areas of my life. I want to be the best person that I can be.

I'm sure there's more that I want, so I will keep inserting some things in future posts.

Early Birthday Post

Well it is officially my birthday! I intend to enjoy this day while still getting some work done. The big thing that I see today, however, is that I fully intend to make this next year of my life the best yet. I can see this being the year that I become slightly famous. I see myself becoming one of the leading fat loss experts in the world. I see my book becoming one of the best-selling fat loss e-books (perhaps even print books) of all time. I see several other projects of mine becoming very successful. I see myself making a ton of friends and helping tens of thousands or maybe even hundreds of thousands of people achieve their fitness goals. I see myself all over magazines, newspapers, the internet, and on TV. I see myself driving a brand new sports car. I see myself taking a trip down to Florida and making other stops as well. I see myself leaving the country for the first time in my life. I see big things for myself. It is definitely going to be an exciting year.

As for my progress, I wrote six more pages of my book in a word document which means it is likely 12 more e-book pages. That was my goal for the day, so I am pleased with that. I also think it is much easier to write when you imagine that you are trying to help someone sitting right in front of you. I started seeing myself communitcating directly with that person and saying the things they needed to hear. This made what I wrote seem quite powerful.

OK, time to get some sleep so I can wake up and enjoy my birthday!

Productive Day

Yesterday was a fairly productive day. I got my article finished and set it up on my new website. I also set up an opt-in form to sign up for my mini e-course that I am working on. I wrote the first message for this autoresponder.

I also wrote about 6 pages for my first e-book which is related to the article and the e-course. The six pages is on word, single-spaced with an extra space between paragraphs. That should be about 12 e-book pages. If I continue that for about 10-12 days, I should have the book completed. I really would like to release something in November to get me started.

I feel happy with my progress over the past few days, but still know my production could be better. I will get some more work done today, but tomorrow may be a little slower since it will be my birthday.

2nd Day Complete

It's time for me to turn in for the night and I realize that I still have a long way to go in my transformation.

I did get some things accomplished since last night. I wrote an article (prior to Dax's e-mail) that I have very special plans for. I purchased an additional domain in addition to the 3 I currently own. I set up my hosting account on the new domain plus another one. I did a few other housekeeping sort of stuff to set me up for a big day tomorrow.

Tomorrow is going to be a key day. It's going to be action day. The pieces are now in place to really get the ball rolling and it is something I must do.

I will report back on my success tomorrow night.

Introduction

Hi guys. I'm Matt Maresca. I live in the United States in New Jersey. I've been a trainer for just about a year and a half. I may just be a kid (will be turning 24 on Monday, the 29th of October) but I have very high expectations of myself. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with a great group of people for the next six months. I expect to learn a lot, grow a lot, and put it all into action.

Dax posed the question what am I worth. Well, here's how I'm going to break that one down. I made a statement a couple years ago to some friends and family and have repeated that statement a number of times since. That statement was, "I, Matt Maresca, will be a millionnaire by January 1, 2010." I told you I have high expectations of myself. I still intend to turn this statement into a fact. My mental approach may be different now than it was 2 years ago, and it will probably be different still in a few weeks. But the goal remains the same. And I intend to achieve that goal by touching the lives of an enormous amount of people.

So what am I worth? In 2010 I will be worth at least $1,000,000. But now, I am on pace to make about $20,000 in 2007. That will not cut it. I am worth more than $20,000. I intend to add a zero to that in 2008, actually over the next 12 months. So, if you want the literal answer, then right now I am worth about $20,000 anually. But in my mind and in my heart I know I am worth at least $200,000.

Now, enough of me talking about myself. I am going to get to work on this idea that popped into my head on the way home from my job tonight. I'll post my efforts afterwards.
